The Contest Email Announcement
Dear Jackson and Music Library Friends,
A brief riddle: What do trick or treating and study groups have in common?
Answer: Everything!
The Jackson Library Staff Association and the Marketing Committee have joined forces to provide a fun way to get the word out about our new collaboratories: Collaboratories Trick or Treat! On October 31, from 12 until 2, students will have the opportunity to visit the collaboratories and collect candy. Sounds great, right?
Right.
But to make this even MORE fun, we are hosting a collaboratory decorating contest. Library departments can "adopt" a collaboratory to decorate in a fall, Halloween, or scary theme (as you choose). Between 12 pm and 2 pm, we ask that your department staff the collaboratory and give out candy to students. Students will then get to vote for their favorite collaboratory, and the winning department will receive one year's unlimited bragging rights, to be awarded at the Fall Staff Association Meeting immediately following. Departments are welcome to partner up and sponsor a collaboratory jointly. If we have more participating departments than collaboratories, the Marketing Committee may pair your department up with another one. Candy will be provided.
The following collaboratories are available for sponsorship:
274a
274b
261
Information Commons
Also, at 11:45 am on October 31, we will hold a ribbon cutting for the information commons and collaboratories. Please attend, as photo opportunities will abound.
Collaboratories are available first come, first serve, so nominate a representative, talk to other departments and let me know which room you'd like to decorate. We will provide all the details to the department's representative.
Thanks!
Amy Harris (representing both the Staff Association and the Marketing Committee)
