The last step in our mission in Egypt was to visit Bast's temple and have Carina give her mother the necklace. I was actually surprised to meet the Goddess in person. I had assumed that Carina would be handing the jewelry over to a subordinate. But no, Bast in all her feline finery was there and she enchanted Carina's weapon by adding one of her own claws to it. Then the Goddess sends us all home using teleportation.
There is a period of about three weeks where our group all does separate things before our next mission starts. I have discovered through our many battles that my knife is simply not adequate for dealing with titan spawn. So, during this time, I acquire a Skeggox, a large Norse styled axe with a silver blade and black handle.
During the down time, I also go on a dinner date with Mickey in Chicago. She is quite pleasant in her own way.
The rest of my time was spent at my job, working on complicated security problems-the more complex the problem, the more enjoyable it is to solve. Although I do enjoy these mental exercises, I did not feel as happy as I usually do when solving them. Perhaps I am missing something... Note: I did not see Caesar or any of the others at all during this time.
Our next mission: to acquire an enchanted horn for Poseidon's daughter, Maryfin. This horn, when blown, lets mortals know that they need to evacuate the premises. The first step in this task is to visit Black Billy Douglas, the son of Agwe. He is known to be on Skull Island, which is in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. The plan is to go to the island using Maryfin's enchanted boat, which is manned by twenty animated human skeltons, and "befriend" Black Billy so he will lead us to where the horn is. Note 1: Skull Island is known for its magical drinking water which will cause the drinker to not age, and if you die, you will wake up the next morning whole and unbroken. Note 2: I purchase and give everyone in the group, especially Caesar, GPS locators for future use outside of the Bermuda Triangle.
