Alecia was born to a family plagued by a curse. The first born of every generation on the male side of the Casanova family always died from unknown causes not long after their eighth birthday. Always. The children born after this first child usually lived to see adulthood, and lead relatively normal lives. Alecia, however, was the first child born to her father, Christopher Casanova. Her mother was so happy when Alecia was born, that her father did not have the heart to tell her about the curse. So, it was that for the first eight years of Alecia's life, she lived happily with her parents and siblings. Every night, her mother would sing to her before she went to sleep. Her mother had a beautiful voice, and she always sang the same song. Always.
On the night of Alecia's eighth birthday, her mother sang to her in her bed, just like she did every night. Only this time, after her mother closed the door to her bed room, a Fae stole Alecia from her bed and replaced her with a created creature that looked and sounded like her. The next day, this doppelganger died.
Alecia was taken to Arcadia by this Fae, and the Fae used its powers to transform Alecia from a human child into a large bird with magnificent red and gold feathers. Alecia was now a phoenix.
Alecia, in her new form, lost the ability to think like a human, and lost all memory of ever being a human or living on Earth. Alecia had been an extraordinarily beautiful child, so it was that she made an extremely beautiful bird. Her Fae master was so pleased with how beautiful a bird she was, that he took her wherever he went, to show the other Fae. One night, Alecia's Fae master made a mistake. The Fae had hidden in Alecia's room on her eighth birthday, and had heard the beautiful song that her mother had sung. One night, while with a large number of other Fae, her master sang the song in a perfect imitation of her mother's voice. The other Fae were so impressed by the song that they told him to sing it again. Her master sang it again. And once again, the Fae begged him to sing it a third time, which he happily obliged with out a second thought. After the words of the song died down the third time, the spell over Alecia's mind and memory broke, and she remembered everything that she had forgotten.
Alecia was clever enough to know that if she wanted to escape Arcadia, she would have to wait for an opportunity to present itself. Meanwhile, she acted like the bird she was, and did her master's bidding. Her Fae master had a magic wardrobe which he kept hidden in the middle of his forest, for he was powerful enough to have sway over all the beasts in his forest, but not powerful enough to create his own clothes. The magic wardrobe, when given blood from the person using it, would magically create any outfit that one desired. Now, Alecia was constantly chained to her master's wrist from a collar around her neck. Only when the Fae was using the wardrobe would he take the chain off. Her master would then put the chain on the wrist of his gorilla servant, who liked wearing large top hats.
One evening, the Fae was interrupted from using the wardrobe. He had just taken off the chain and attached it to the gorilla when one of his sparrows flew to him and gave him a message. After hearing the message, her master became very angry, and flew off in a rage, leaving Alecia and the gorilla behind. Alecia knew this was her chance, so she flapped her wings furiously and blew the gorilla's top hat off his head and deep into the forest. The gorilla desperately tried to run after it, but phoenixes are strong birds, and still being chained to her, she was able to use her strength to keep the gorilla next to the wardrobe. The gorilla cried out and raged at her, but he could not move any closer to his hat. Finally, the gorilla gave up the battle and taking the chain off his wrist, he attached it firmly to the top of the magic wardrobe. Alecia waited until the gorilla ran far into the forest in search of his hat before she flapped her mighty wings and flew high into the sky, carrying the wardrobe with her as she flew. She flew as high as she could and over the tree tops of her master's forest she saw the Hedge. She flew all night and all day, until three suns had risen and set. Then she made it to the Hedge.
It was a very long and hard journey through the Hedge to the Earth, but Alecia never gave up. Never. Alecia took the wardrobe with her through the Hedge, since she had no hands to take off the chain. While pecking and clawing her way through the Thorns, she finally found a weak spot and plunged back into the world of humans...
On the other side of the Thorns, Alecia found herself in an empty room in an asylum owned by a Mage. The Mage took her in and cared for her in her weakened state, giving her food, clothing, and a place to sleep. Alecia stayed in the asylum until the Mage thought she was ready to face the world outside its walls. Alecia now has a job as an aerial gymnast and acrobat at a vampire run theme park. She has also joined the Spring Court and created a Hollow for herself in the Hedge, to store her magic wardrobe and grow goblin fruit.
The Hollow took three years, three months, and three days to finish, and it is the size of a small cave. Alecia wanted the best protection for her Hollow, so that no Fae or other changelings could take it away from her. So, she found an ancient and powerful changeling to put up the strongest ward he knew how to create. *The price Alecia had to pay for the level five ward is up to the GM, but I would suggest it be paid in fives---like, five days or five months, or five fruit, etc.*
